It was once the home of famed Canadian painter, J.E.H. MacDonald, a founding member of the Group of Seven and his accomplished son, illustrator Thoreau MacDonald.<\/p>\n<p>In 1974, Thoreau MacDonald donated the entire property to the City of Vaughan.
